I find it intriguing how photographers tend to have particular pictures, or at least a certain kind of picture, that they keep coming back to. I’m not sure if it shows a lack of originality on my part but every time I go back to charleville castle, the same stuff catches my eye. This shot was of that nature – I took exactly the same picture when I was there a few years ago, and I’m still trying to figure out what the scene was saying to me, that made me so interested in it. I think part of its draw for me is how it’s such an ordinary little corner, but somehow when I point my camera at it, I see the colours of an oil painting.
it kind of IS ! reminds me of henk helmantel's paintings. http://www.helmantel.nl/showpage.php?id=60 when you have time some day, browse his 'interieurs'. you will probably also like 'stillevens'
