a gentle soul
Oh acers, I love them in sunshine against a blue sky, I love them in a shady corner, i love them with bright sunlight filtering through the leaves, i love them in the autumn when they turn amazing colours, and in the spring when those fine little leaves start to unfurl from tiny buds. But they do not love being exposed to harsh sun and wind on a 6th floor balcony, and I suspect that I’m going to have to put mine up for adoption to go to a better home soon. I’ll just have to spend time looking at the ones in parks and at garden shows, like this one, shown off to great advantage against a dramatic black backdrop.
Gentle but a little sad, this one.
